Starting points – Ready Steady Go

If you want support as you begin your journey of discovering and helping your ADHD symptoms,

I suggest the following organisations and people that might help you.

  1. Go to ADHD talks. – I went to a seed talk on ADHD

2. Join a facebook group in your area – see if there is one.

3. Get financial help – https://www.gov.uk/access-to-work

4. Look for a coach – For older women I had a free session with this lady.

Take a step back, look at yourself and try and feel your inner compass. Where is life taking you?

5. I discovered that I already use stimulants – I love coffee and dark chocolate. I self soothe myself by listening to stories on audible.

6. I laugh at myself for the seemingly daft things I do, but I now know they are due to the way my brain is wired and that is ok.

7. When I can’t do something I don’t struggle, I ask for help in the acceptance that it is ok because there are plenty of things I can do and some that other people find very difficult.

8. Having watched the Panorama programme on the con of private ADHD diagnosis I was horrified. However I wouldn’t miss a beat in recommending Mindprofessionals.

https://mindprofessionals.com/ – My consultation was 2 and a half hours long, extremely informative and videod. I have a copy of the video which I continue to refer to. I was diagnosed as having ADHD, I have a friend who went who was not. The consultant psychiatrist I had was

He works for the NHS when he is not fulfilling his private work. The cost was £1500

The diagnosis has changed my life, forever and completely.

Good Luck in your journey.
